Franz Liszt (1811 - 1886)
Hungarian born
composer, Liszt was an incomparable pianist. He
performed the piano at numerous concerts, and
was famous for making the women wild, which
coined the word "Lisztomania." Liszt
composed some of the most difficult piano
music, and invented the symphonic poem for
orchestral work that didn't conform to
traditional strict symphonic format. Liszt
lived until the age of 74, and died of
pneumonia.
