Evening Solace by Charlotte Bronte

THE human heart has hidden treasures,
In secret kept, in silence sealed;
The thoughts, the hopes, the dreams, the pleasures,
Whose charms were broken if revealed.

And days may pass in gay confusion,
And nights in rosy riot fly,
While, lost in Fame's or Wealth's illusion,
The memory of the Past may die.

But, there are hours of lonely musing,
Such as in evening silence come,
When, soft as birds their pinions closing,
The heart's best feelings gather home.

Then in our souls there seems to languish
A tender grief that is not woe;
And thoughts that once wrung groans of anguish,
Now cause but some mild tears to flow.

And feelings, once as strong as passions,
Float softly backa faded dream;
Our own sharp griefs and wild sensations,
The tale of others' sufferings seem.

Oh ! when the heart is freshly bleeding,
How longs it for that time to be,
When, through the mist of years receding,
Its woes but live in reverie !

And it can dwell on moonlight glimmer,
On evening shade and loneliness;
And, while the sky grows dim and dimmer,
Feel no untold and strange distress.

Only a deeper impulse given
By lonely hour and darkened room,
To solemn thoughts that soar to heaven,
Seeking a life and world to come.

La la laaaaa!!!

Andrea and Katelyn are in my voice class!
Woohoo!

Sooooo.....
Eve Ann did this thing to my neck that was so small, but so cool.
I can't even describe it.
Anyways, I sat there, moving my head around like one of those bobble head doll things.
LOL

It is cold and raining.
Fun fun.

Off to choir!

My goodness

I had some action packed dreams last night!
In one of them, I was with some other people in the house and we were getting really freaked out because strange things were happening.
Turned out there were bad guys in the house and I actually got shot in the leg!
It was odd because when I looked down at my leg, I could see the bullet (which looked more like a beebee) in my leg and it was moving around. Very odd.
So I went to one of the guys and showed him and he took his knife and made a little slit and got the bullet out.
And I didn't scream, cry, faint or anything!
Hah!

Sheesh

IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAA
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!

Well, a nice lady from Financial Aid called and let me know that I qualify for the fee waiver. So now I have to back to the office, get an Authorization to Register, go back to Registration, tell them that I don't owe them 142 bucks and register for this semester.
Sheesh.
And I thought computers could talk to each other!!!

I'm taking my first voice class.
*gulp*
I am so paranoid about this.
I've seen and heard of too many people who had beautiful voices, had some training and then everything went flat.
*sigh*

Bethany and Chelleme and I went to The Dump for lunch.
I left with that Dump-y burger taste in my mouth.
:)

Andrea and I are going to Camellia's tomorrow!
Woohoo!
Girlie time!

Dreams

I had a dream last night that I was reading a book.
In this book, there was a scene of some kind of large gathering, perhaps a house party.
Guess who showed up at this gathering?

ROWLAND ROCHESTER!!!

HAHAHAHAA!!!!

Oh dear.
That's what comes from reading Jane earlier in the day.

On Sunday night, I had a very kooky dream.
I dreamed that I was in a mansion owned by Richard Branson (the Virgin guy....as in the company...*cough*) and he was showing us around this mansion.
For some reason, Andew Lloyd Webber was also there.
This house was so cool. The rooms were beautiful and they were decorated in different styles. There was one that was Asian and Richard's bedroom was lovely.
Not sure what happened right after that, but the next thing I remember is that I left the group (while ALW was talking) and I ended up in a magnificent old fashioned flowy white nightgown thingie, complete with a flowy white dressing gown. I went down a big staircase in my flowy white ensemble. And that was it.
:)
Oh, and there was something going on between me and Branson, some sort of emotional relationship.
Ahem.
Sooooo...I guess this means that my subconscious wants an older attractive British man with oodles of money.
Is that too much to ask?????
;)

In other news, I'm listening to Bro.Booker's biography.
My goodness.
That man was born to write.
Anybody who can quote poetry like he can is born to write.

This is one that he quoted in reference to Bro. & Sis. Price -

Here, sown by the Creator's hand,
In serried ranks, the Redwoods stand;
No other clime is honored so,
No other lands their glory know.

The greatest of Earth's living forms,
Tall conquerors that laugh at storms;
Their challenge still unanswered rings,
Through fifty centuries of kings.

The nations that with them were young,
Rich empires, with their forts far-flung,
Lie buried now - their splendor gone;
But these proud monarchs still live on.

So shall they live, when ends our day,
When our crude citadels decay;
For brief the years allotted man,
But infinite perennials' span.

This is their temple, vaulted high,
And here we pause with reverent eye,
With silent tongue and awe-struck soul;
For here we sense life's proper goal;

To be like these, straight, true and fine,
To make our world, like theirs, a shrine;
Sink down, oh traveler, on your knees,
God stands before you in these trees.

Age

I watched Gabby and Madeline today.
Sheesh, I'm getting old.
I remember when Gabby was two and Maddy was born.
*sigh*

Snow!!!!

Our snowwomen and Zoe.

Does this need an explanation?

Big Fancy House of the Day

Hampton Court

First of all, don't listen to that moron Rick Steves.
He gave Hampton Court a ridiculously low star rating in his Europe guidebook.
Heathen.
What does he know.

My friends, Hampton Court is so fantabulously fantabulous, it is worthy of being on my blog.
It was given to Henry VIII by Wolsey, party in the hopes that would surround Wolsey with a measure of protection.
*cough*
And we know how that turned out.

One of the neatest things about Hampton is that the architecture represents a varity of styles and periods.

It's practically an art gallery within itself.
When I turned a corner and came upon this painting, I freaked out (which for me, means stunned silence) -

I've probably gone on about this before on the blog, so I won't take the time to now, but anywhoo, it's beautiful and if you want to read the paper I wrote about it, email me.
:)

The state of the world

Okay....I find this extremely humorous...

The media in the UK is in a frenzy because Prince Harry wore a Nazi uniform, complete with a swastika armband, to a costume party.

Now, I ask you...is that not proof of 20 year old maleness?????
If a student did that in the US, they would probably kick him out of school.
*sigh*

So guess who is defending him?
FERGIE!!!

HAHAHAHAHAAAA!!!!!!

*wipes tears from eyes*
Oh boy, I tell ya.
Those "royals."
I may not always take pride in the one person who symbolizes my country, but at least I had some choice in the matter.
