Sal and I are going to meet Gretchen at Davies Symphony Hall next Thursday to see David Daniels.
He's singing Dvorak, which I can handle, because he's singing mostly BACH!!!

About Me
I can only take Beethoven in small doses.
I don't like white pianos.
I get annoyed when people sing with an English accent when they aren't English.
I don't like bananas or coconut.
I eat peanut butter on apples.
I have the cutest cat in the whole wide world.

Update
The Spanish final wasn't as horrible as I thought it was going to be. It was actually fairly easy.

Perfection and Levitation
So, I was thinking...What makes Pavarotti so great?
Cause he is great, in case you were wondering.
Anyways, I came to this conclusion -
Pavarotti is great because when you (or least when I) listen to him, I have absolute confidence in him.
Does the man ever hit a bad note? Granted his voice has gone a little downhill the last few years, but seriously people...when you hear Pavarotti, you KNOW it's Pavarotti.
And really, saying that you have absolute confidence in someone is a big deal.
For instance, I don't have that same kind of absolute confidence in Roberto. He has been known to hit a bad note or two. However, no one can match his ability to cause you (or least ME *grin*) to practically levitate when he hits a good note.
Pavarotti may inspire absolute confidence, but he doesn't necessarily cause levitation.
Which proves that technical perfection isn't enough.
Another example would be Anthony Warlow and Michael.
Anthony may be technically perfect, but Michael brings about the levitation.
In closing, I would just like to say that the Celtic Tenors stink.
Adios, mis amigos.

Happy Birthday to me!!
Yes, I am up at 8:30 am on my birthday.
Cat fight in the backyard.
Bah.
Six years ago today, I was in a car on the way from seeing Jonathan in Oregon.
Three years ago today, I was on a plane to Hartford, Connecticut, because a terrible thing was happening to the world - Jane was closing.
*sob*
One year ago today, I had a party. Two of the friends at that party are now married and gone.
Birthdays are often bittersweet.
Life changes.
21 was kind of a hard year for me.
But God has helped me so much and there are some things that I will never forget.
He has never left me alone and He never will.
22 is going well so far.
*grin*
Salt Lake City was a blast. And yes, that was technically 21, but I'm counting it as the beginning of 22. :)
I had a lovely party this Saturday.
28!!!!!!!!
Sal is coming in a week.
Rebecca is supposed to come in August.
Summer is upon us.
Frank and the musicians finally learned "You Are Good."
Things are looking up in the world.
:)

Perhaps Love
Perhaps Love
(click on link)
Perhaps love is like a resting place
A shelter from the storm
It exists to give you comfort
It is there to keep you warm
And in those times of trouble
When you are most alone
The memory of love will bring you home
Perhaps love is like a window
Perhaps an open door
It invites you to come closer
It wants to show you more
And even if you lose yourself
And don`t know what to do
The memory of love will see you through
Love to some is like a cloud
To some as strong as steel
For some a way of living
For some a way to feel
And some say love is holding on
And some say letting go
And some say love is everything
And some say they don`t know
Perhaps love is like the ocean
Full of conflict, full of pain
Like a fire when it`s cold outside
Or thunder when it rains
If I should live forever
And all my dreams come true
My memories of love will be of you
And some say love is holding on
And some say letting go
And some say love is everything
And some say they don`t know
Perhaps love is like the mountains
Full of conflict, full of change
Like a fire when it`s cold outside
Or thunder when it rains
If I should live forever
And all my dreams come true
My memories of love will see me through

Down Memory Lane
I found this letter this morning in a box.
I am happy to report, that I smiled. I didn't cry. I didn't wish for a very sharp axe. I didn't even glimpse the Depths of Despair. I think even the pity might be gone. Now there is just a sigh.
And by the way, I don't think he ever spelled my name correctly.
To Lady Kathrine of Gooch,
Behold, mine ear hath heard thine cry, and my lips shall answer. Verily, my liver fareth well and my heart is gladdened at the good report of thine. Tis good to know thou hast not been overtaken by the spells of fainting. Hark! A teacher approaches! I must conceal my quill and hide my papyrus!!.......Lo, she is gone. I now take up my pen in hand to write thee tidings of great joy. I don't like anybody! Tis a great feat and hard to accomplish, but lo, I have done it. My heart is unshackled and my soul free as a dove. (You really should try it sometime.) Verily, my love, I must part from thy sweet presence, and come away from thine bountiful beauty, for behold on the horizon!! A dragon! Fierce is he, and a formidable foe. And the name of terror that hast been dubbed upon him is a name that makes strong men tremble and shake in their boots, for Lo! His evil name is Schoolwork! And I must overcome him. Until next time, I remain yours truly,
Reverand Knigh Errant Studley of Brownie Button
PS Your favorite football player, Reggie White, retired. He has a league record of 165 sacks to his credit, but his back hurts so he's gonna stay home and sniffle.

Someone Else's Dream
A dark reflection is always staring back at me
A constant question - Is this really how it has to be?
Have I lost my way
Do I have to stay
Living someone else's life
Dreaming someone else'sdream
Feeling someone else's pain
It's slowly killing me
Thought I knew myself, who I was
I believed in me
Now that's gone, I can't go on
Dreaming someone else's dream
There are moments I see a different possibility
Oh, to change direction
Be the person that I want to be
Is it all too late
Have I sealed my fate
By living someone else's life
Dreaming someone else's dream
Feeling someone else's pain
Slowly killing me
Thought I knew myself, who I was
I believed in me
That's gone, I can't go on
Dreaming someone's dream

I discovered that if you push the tap thingie down on the water cooler, water will come out. I've always pulled the tap thingie up. Both ways work.
Pretty cool, heh?

With One Look
I'm home.
I'm tired.
Miguel Partido rocked.
Bethany, I cried during Empty Chairs and I Dreamed I Dreamd.
*sniff*
I gotta go to bed.

On that journey expect only....the expected
Well dearies, it was inevitable.
It just took a while to find the right pic.
And here it is. :)

Interesting
How every odd.
I was just looking at Weatherbug and had a sudden flashback to
Now that was a play.
All it took was a chest, a couple of chairs and a cast of two. Unless you count The Woman In Black as the third member...
*cues spooky music*
The cool thing about that show is that it engages your imagination right away and then they don't need a huge stage and massive sets.
So there.
Something funny...when the new ALW musical opens this fall, the West End will have The Woman In White and The Woman In Black playing at the same time.

It's that time of year...
So the Spanish exam wasn't too horrible. In fact, it went rather well.
Ya know, those of you who read this blog that know Liscano may laugh, but I saw him today and it was extremely pleasant. He isn't exactly hard to look at it. Did I mention that he was wearing a white shirt? *grin*
I told Bethany that he's the only young, good looking guy (as in faculty member guy) out there and she said "Well, there's always Niles Severy."
HAHAHAHAHAHAAAAA!!!!!!
She's a real card, that one.
I just cleaned up Bruno's tank.
I'm ashamed to admit that it was rather uhm, dirty.
I unplugged the pump and didn't plug it back in.
Wasn't pretty.
Anywhoo, he's happily swimming around in his nicely cleaned tank.
What a life.

Everything old is new again
Well, Blogger changed their whole set up.
Hm.
This will take some getting used to.
Anywhoo, here is yours truly in her Mother's Day outfit:
I was so pooped yesterday.
I was talking to Sal and had to go to bed at 11:15 because my eyes felt like sandpaper. So now it's 9 on Monday morning and I'm already up. Which is good, because I have to study for my Spanish exam. *gulp*

Something
The night begins the day:
The moon gives off her light,
The stars wink at the ocean waves.
I walk with you,
You talk to me.
The day begins the night.

I walk with you,

You're Element is Water. You are soft and serene at
most times but like Wind, you're scary when
you're mad. You proabaly have a talent is
singing and even your speaking voice is lovely.
You have an innocent type of beauty that makes
you look younger than you are and you like
close relationships with people.
What's Your Element(girls)? (PICTURES)

Not sure what to think about this...
Blue Cheese: Unique and different (and slightly
odd). You might feel smarter than those around
you sometimes....(Just don't get too moldy!)
