Well, here I am, folks.
Of course since I'm starting a new job tomorrow, I have caught a cold of sorts.
*sigh*
Most unfortunate.
It will be rather odd working in the same building again.
However, at least the interior is lovely.
'Nuff said.
Grandma Gooch had her surgery and seems to be doing fine.
The relatives are gone.
Me and The Steve get along well.
Put two Task Oriented Introverts together and they can find a lot to talk about.
:)
I made some mean stew the other night.
Might have that for lunch.
Sounds more appealing than hot dogs.
*turns green*
I had to have my tea without milk this morning, since we didn't have any.
Bah.
I don't recommend it.
Hey Bethy, I'll be working right next to that Pete's place...
I have a statistics class this summer then I'll be done at NVC.
Time to move on to Sonoma State.
I'm thinking about going for the MA Counseling program.
Sounds interesting.
Of course, they have to accept me first.
But why wouldn't they accept me!?
I'm brilliant!
I'm more than spectacular, to use the vernacular, I'm wizard, I'm smashing, I'm keeeeeeeeeennnn!!!!!!
Oookay.
Sorry about that.
Was having a Sherman Brothers moment there.
*cough*
Slow connections.
I really don't like slow connections, especially when they are supposed to be fast connections.
Very annoying that.
*sigh*

Whatever
You Are A Romantic |
You are more romantic than 100% of the population. You life your life like a fairy tale... or at least you try to. Living for magical moments, you believe there's only one true love for you. Love is the most important thing in your life, and you don't take it for granted. Your perfect match loves to be in love as much as you do! |
Hah!
Your Inner European is Russian! |
Mysterious and exotic. You've got a great balance of danger and allure. |

Drugs or Jesus
How terribly interesting:
Drugs Or Jesus
written by - Brett James/Aimee Mayo/Troy Verges/Chris Lindsey)
sung by - Tim McGraw
In my home town
For anyone who sticks around
You're either lost or you're found
There's not much in between
In my home town
Everything's still black and white
It's a long, long way from wrong to right
From Sunday morning to Saturday night
Everybody just wants to get high
Sit and watch a perfect world go by
We're all looking for love and meaning in our lives
We follow the roads that lead us
To drugs or Jesus
My whole life
I've tried to run, I've tried to hide
From the stained glass windows in my mind
Refusing to let God's light shine
Down on me
Down on me
Everybody just wants to get high
Sit and watch a perfect world go by
We're all looking for love and meaning in our lives
There's not much space between us
Drugs or Jesus
Everybody wants acceptance
We all just want some proof
Everyone's just looking for the truth
Everybody just wants to get high
Sit and watch a perfect world go by
We're all looking for love and meaning in our lives
We follow the roads that lead us

Hahhaaaa!!!
So, filthy rich Joop Van Den Ende's company Stage Holding is settling a deal to purchase Theatre Mogador in Paris.
The thing that cracked me up is this portion of the article -
ut Paris and musicals are seen by the industry as a mismatch. The shows which have set French box offices on fire, like Notre Dame De Paris and Romeo and Juliet, have bombed elsewhere (both of those were notorious London flops). On the other hand, Les Misérables, a decidedly successful French export, failed in Paris and only found success when Mackintosh and the Royal Shakespeare Company developed it for London.
Hahhaaaa!!!
Paris and musicals are seen by the industry as a mismatch!!
Sure they are!
What industry???
Definitely not the industry in France!
Folks, they failed elsewhere (meaning London, not necessarily other European countries) because they lack traditional staging.
And because anyone who is dumb enough to hire Don Black to write/translate lyrics for a musical...well, what can I say. Plus, and I use the term losely, the singers in the London production of R&J were amazingly dreadful.
*sigh*
Of course, this article does not mention that R&J is a big hit in other countries. For Pete's sake, the thing is playing in RUSSIA!
*sigh*

Moving
******ALERT******
I've just come up with a new word - a combination of "mental" and "emotional" - menotional. It is used in the following post. :)
It is so interesting to look back a few years in one's life and think "I CAN'T BELIEVE THAT HAPPENED!!!!"
You think about things and you're shocked that they happened.
You're shocked that it happened to YOU.
You're amazed that no one and nothing stopped it from happening.
Not that it was something specific, like stealing a car or something LOL but just a situation in general.
It's funny how you can become so wrapped up in a person.
You see them everywhere you go.
You see a tree and think of them.
You hear a word or a phrase and think of them.
You hear their name and it's like a punch to the chest.
And it lasts for a long time.
You want it to end, but you can't MAKE it end.
You try and try and try.
But you can't make it happen.
So, what makes us tick?
What makes one person more appealing than another?
What is so fantastic about that person that makes you do such crazy things and become so absorbed in them?
It isn't because they scaled Mt.Everest or gave everything they had to starving children in Sudan. They are usually just Average Joe's.
What is it?
What makes a nice baked potato so great?
A potato is a fairly common thing.
You think about it the next day or the next week and you realize that it was just a potato.
Was the potato great just because you were hungry?
Is that Average Joe so great to you just because of timing?
I think because this world basically will take everything off in more than ways than one, we have forgotten how two people can forge a mental & emotional relationship when there is no physical relationship between them. Certainly the physical would have just compounded the menotional, but sometimes that menotional relationship has effects that hang around much longer than physical ones would.
You see the person years later and they still look at you the same way.
It's very strange to have a person look at you with something in their eyes that can only be compared to Hope. It's scary and humbling and flattering all at the same time.
To know that you symbolize Goodness itself to a person, a person with whom you will never share your life, a person that you may in fact never see again.
And that doesn't bother you. Years before, it crushed you. It took away the sunshine and warm summer days. It made life dark and lonely.
You can talk about them and think about them without those piercing bolts of lightning attacking your heart.
And it had to happen on its own.

Love
When there is love, you will not erase it. When a heart has found honest love, it holds fast and remains tender. There are no deeper roots, and flowering or not it grows. It's patient this love. It needs so little care, so little light. It does not strive but given a place, at last will show itself to generations.

Whoa
Sorry for not posting for so long.
Let's see, what's been going on...
I went to San Francisco with the Browns and they took me to the Rainforest Cafe, which was very cool.
Easter, etc. Thought mother ruined my pretty pink sweater, but she didn't.
Did my film review last night in Speech class. For anyone who's wondering, I did the VeggieTales Jonah and made it sound terribly politically correct...colorblind casting and all that. Well, they are all VEGETABLES ya know! ;)
Laughed so hard that my face was hurting because of a conversation with Jenny.
Fell in love. *sigh* ;) ;) ;) ;) ;)
Heard a HORRIBLE version of Because You Loved Me by some new chick artist.
Oh man, it's bad. I thought it was Jaci Velasquez and I was thinking WHOA! She sounds terrible! But it's not her.
People, if you are going to cover a song, punch it up a little! Don't sing it exactly like the original artist! That's BORING! Add your own touches to it!
This is a terrible expression in the first place, but oh well.....
After hearing that song, I thought Sweetie, if you're going to beat a dead horse, beat it with a NEW whip!
Gah!!!!
Paul said that he's going to sing Healing Hands if Frankie can lower it.
I gotta keep bugging him about it.
I told him that Tracy and I can be his backup and do the whole coordinated arm movement thing.
Heeheeheeeee!!!! ;)
So after hearing part of the song, I had to have a little JonathanFest.
What a beeuuutiful voice.
Certainly takes me back a few years.
Ah, the crushes of a teenage girl.
Folks, I sat through a Gaither Homecoming Concert just to see that man.
THAT is dedication.
The Divos are going to be making some appearances in the US next month.
Thanks, guys.
Make me pay an arm and a leg to import the cd and then months later, you'll release it here.
What's up with that!! Why do people keep doing that!!!
I'll tell you why! Because people are prejudiced against we poor Americans!
They think they can just dangle us around! They give the Europeans the first crack at new music! Well I gotta tell you, music would be in a sorry state if it weren't for the American market! So you better think this over long and hard! So there!
My, I seem to be using a lot of exclamation marks!
;)
Sal, if you read this...
I hope you're feeling better.
I sent Cheyenne and Doug to you a couple of days ago.
They'll help cheer you up.
Okay, I'm going.
Byeeeee!!!!

Today
Me and Bethy are going to The Dump (In&Out) for dinner tonight.
We're such party animals.
It's raining today. I guess the weather realized that it's still supposed to be winter. One week it's 85 degrees and the next week it's raining and I'm wearing a sweater that I don't think I have worn since I was in Indiana in January.
I love California.

We're Already There
This is beautiful!!!!!!!
Hugh rocks!!!
Trying to sleep alone in my bed
Thoughts of the future go 'round in my head
How will I find the love of my own
Love of the kind that I've never known
Don't know where I'm going
Don't know what to do
I take comfort knowing that right here and now
You're out in the world
Searching for me, too
You're already there, waiting for me
Wondering where in the world I could be
You go through your day dreaming your dream
Afraid that it might not come true
While I'm lying here, dreaming of you
You're far, far away or just down the street
But surely someday we are destined to meet
I know in my heart you're coming to me
Don't need to know when and where
I'll just turn and one day you'll be there
And maybe we will know at the first word, at the first glance
Or maybe we'll go slow
Start out as friends but in the end
A love to last a lifetime will grow
And that will be our story
I can't wait to live our story
So now go to sleep and I'll do the same
Knowing your heart though I don't know your name
I trust in a plan much higher than me
To bring us together in time
So till you appear, I'll picture you clear
Remove all the doubt and let go of the fear
And know that the future is fine
You're already there
Waiting for me
So in a funny way
You're already mine

New
I posted this last May.
I'm posting it again.
Some things can be repaired and some things can't.
Or you can start over.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
To Lady Kathrine of Gooch,
Behold, mine ear hath heard thine cry, and my lips shall answer.
Verily, my liver fareth well and my heart is gladdened at the good report of thine. Tis good to know thou hast not been overtaken by the spells of fainting.
Hark! A teacher approaches! I must conceal my quill and hide my papyrus!!.......Lo, she is gone. I now take up my pen in hand to write thee tidings of great joy. I don't like anybody! Tis a great feat and hard to accomplish, but lo, I have done it. My heart is unshackled and my soul free as a dove.
(You really should try it sometime.)
Verily, my love, I must part from thy sweet presence, and come away from thine bountiful beauty, for behold on the horizon!!
A dragon! Fierce is he, and a formidable foe.
And the name of terror that hast been dubbed upon him is a name that makes strong men tremble and shake in their boots, for Lo!
His evil name is Schoolwork! And I must overcome him.
Until next time, I remain yours truly,
Reverand Knigh Errant Studley of Brownie Button
PS Your favorite football player, Reggie White, retired. He has a league record of 165 sacks to his credit, but his back hurts so he's gonna stay home and sniffle.
Update
For anyone who hasn't been able to catch me on AIM lately -
I've been working, sleeping, getting sick and out 'n about with various peoples.
I'm headed to Alameda this morning with Andrea to take LaQuida to see Papa, so we'll be back this afternoon.
In other news, I'm doing a commercial about musicals for my Public Speaking class.
I'm open to suggestions. :)
